About SUS

Sablamby Unnayan Samity (SUS)- a Non-Government Organization (NGO), which is working at Netrakona, Sunamganj, Mymensingh, Kishoregonj, Jamalpur and Sherpur districts. The head office of SUS is situated at the eastern part of Netrakona town and 160 km apart from the capital city Dhaka of Bangladesh.SUS started its work with handicraft and awareness raising activities back in 1986. Since inception, it has been working as a multi-facet development organization. From a tiny organization, SUS over the last 21 years evolved into a large local organization. It started its journey by introducing careful interventions for improving the socio-economically deprived section of the society. 

The vision of SUS: People lives and work in a harmonious society. 

The mission statement of SUS is an NGO works with underprivileged and marginalized people especially women. Children, adolescent and disable through a rights-based integrated approach, with prime focus on livelihood development of the family.

SUS is committed to bringing about positive changes in the quality of life of deprived people by making available education, comprehensive health service, microcredit and other social services. SUS family believes in emphasizing an inclusive gender approach, community participation and working towards integration and collaboration with the government and other relevant organization to enhance the quality of omens of lives.SUS will continue to distinguish itself, as a development organization oriented to a holistic approach to meet the organizational and community needs by maintaining its professionalism. The organization is striving to make itself institutionally, programmatically and financially sustainable without compromising to its quality service. The goal of us deprived people enjoy a better livelihood and have involvement in improving their lives. 

The objective of SUS: 
To improve the economic status of the group members by promoting agriculture, livestock, fisheries, handicraft production and other microenterprise activities. 
* To ensure access to quality education, health, and create a friendly environment for the poor for better living with honor and dignity.
* To create a gender-based social environment by reducing violence and ensuring access to justice.
* To strengthen and ensure the smooth operation of the core programs.
*To disseminate appropriate technology in the field of agriculture as well as to protect the environment.
* To support the personnel involved in finance, accounts and logistics management to perform their activities effectively and efficiently.
* To attain a greater level of sustainability.
* To assist in accessing into govt and other service provider institutions.

Population coverage by SUS 
25% people in working area at Netrakona district and nearly 1% of other districts. Geographical coverage by SUS SUS is working in Netrakona, Sunamganj, Mymensingh, Kishoregonj, Jamalpur and Sherpur districts. Out of 6 districts, SUS works with 3 NGOs of Kishoregonj, Jamalpur and Sherpur districts only to activate and strengthen village court under Union Parishad (UP) with a view to access of poor people into justice.
