Social Development
SUS has been working for social changes in its working areas through different interventions. If the community aware and exercise good practices which they have achieved from health and education related initiatives of SUS, people of the community will be engaged development works with more enthusiastic manner. Health, disability and social education cover a range of issues that how they affect individuals, human development and communications. SUS works to offer confidence to the people to make them informed and responsible. Thereafter, they could involve the whole community in the planning and development of the area of interaction. It also provides people with opportunities to query into social and expressive health and intelligence that can lead to a complete and balanced lifestyle. Different interventions are involved to enhance social development.

Non-Formal Primary Education (NFPE)
SUS has been implementing NFPE since 1992 for deprived and dropped out children. Total student completed their 3 years course: 15,470

Early Childhood Development (ECD)
SUS started pre-primary education in 2006 to prepare the 5+ children for primary education. Total student completed their 1 year course: 10,320

Education Scholarship
Every year, 6-7 students from secondary school level to university get scholarship through “Marianne Hofsten Scholarship”, Sweden.

Reproductive Health, HIV and AIDS
SUS has been implementing the project since 1998 for improving primary health care and reproductive health situation, taking FP method, improving sanitation situation, aware about HIV/AIDs, aware about safe water, for establishing social and family rights regarding health protection and making linkage with different GO-NGO institutions. District: 2, Upazila: 2, Union: 10, Village: 32, Family: 800.

SUS has been implementing the activities of “SUS Hospital” since 2010 with a view to provide quality health services to the poor people especially children, adolescent and women.

Promotive (Community meeting,Courtyard meeting, School health programme, Day observation e.g. World health day NID, Safe motherhood days etc, Advocacy and counseling).
Preventive (Vaccination for new born, TT vaccine for pregnant mother and female (14-45 yrs), Autoclave and incineration, Personal hygiene, Safe drinking water and sanitation, Gardening).
Curative (Outdoor patients e.g. ANC care, post natal care, Child health, general patients, Indoor patients: operative patients, EOC services (caesarean section), Normal delivery, Satellite clinics).
Rehabilitative (Cleft lip and palate operation, Club foot correction by ponseti method, Physiotherapy, Different assistive device promotion).
Capacity building (Training, Exchange visit, Weekly clinical session among the clinical staff, Monthly staff meeting).
Supportive (Laboratory facilities, Ultrasonogram facilities, ECG, Ambulance services, Pregnancy package).

SUS has been implementing disability rehabilitation project since 1998 with a view to reduce disability and ensure the rights of persons with disabilities. District: 2 (Netrakona and Mymensingh), Upazila: 8, Union: 74, Village: 522, Total registered clients: 3437.

Strengthening Capacity and Networking of NSAs and LAs on Disability (SCANED)
SUS has been implementing the project since April 2014 with a view to improve the situation of 100 disables especially poor disables those are still out of disability services of 2 unions of Netrakona sadar upazila and to march them with mainstream of society. The project will continue upto 2017.

Walk For Life (The National Clubfoot program of Bangladesh)
SUS has been running the project with the assistance of The Glencoe Foundation, Australia and Health and Family Welfare Ministry, People’s Republic of Bangladesh since 12 April 2011. The expertise comes every Tuesday in a week. Since April 2011-30 June 2015: Total client: 269, Total feet: 403, Special shoe: 241 and tenotomy operation: 134.

Babu Barta (Women’s Health Innovation Program-WHIP)
SUS has been implementing the project since August 2014 with a view to achieve the goal “To help and empower the eligible women and adolescent on pregnancy and child birth by providing related all information in the way, they can take appropriate decisions to avail health care services when necessary” at Netrakona sadar and Kendua upazila of Netrakona district.

Engaging Communities for Social and Behavior Changes project
“Engaging Communities for Social and Behavior Changes” project is a collaborative project of government, UNICEF and Sabalamby Unnyan Samity (SUS). The objective of the project is to increase the knowledge and practice of key child survival and development behaviors by using Communication for Development (C4D) approaches that promotes and elaborates people’s own development needs and aims to create demand for quality services and support to practice positive behaviours and social norms. Sabalamby Unnayan Samity (SUS) has been facilitating the implementation of these C4D interventions in 3 upazilas (Atpara, Modon and Khaliajuri) of Netrakona district in partnership with UNICEF since 15 August 2012. SUS is promoting 8 key life savings behaviors and 3 harmful practices through implementing different communication activities. These activities consist of Capacity Strengthening, Assessment and Planning, Integrated Behavior Change Communication (BCC), Partnership for Social Change and Monitoring and Review interventions.
