How to write a proper case study!
7 Steps of writing the good case study
1. WHAT
-what was the situation before/background to the problem that the programme has addressed? What result/change happened?
2. WHO or WHAT is affected
- Which person, group, law, ecosystem?
3. BY WHOM
- What actor contributed to the result? Describe the programme’s particular contribution as specific as possible if other actors also contributed.
4. WHERE
- Where has the result taken place (region, town)?
5. HOW was it achieved?
- What did you do to make an impact on the problem? This can be a specific activity or method.
6. VERIFIABILITY
- If possible you can add any evidence to the result, this could, for example, be that the community you work with has affected local authorities and been included in a government initiative.
7. LESSONS learned
- what lessons were learned during the process and are there any lessons that will affect future work? Where there any unexpected lessons?
