Sharing workshop between civic organization and UP standing committee

A sharing workshop was organized between different civic organizations eg. Manobadhikar Sangrokkon Parishad (MSP), Manobadhikar Nari Somaj (MNS) and law and order control, mitigation of family conflict, women and children welfare standing committee of UP with the assistance of SUS on 27 February 2014 at 11.00 am at the conference hall of Mougati union parishad. A total of 25 participants from standing committee, MSP, MNS, UP members and representatives of SUS attended the workshop. Mahabubul Islam Komol, chairman,Mougati union  parishad presided over the meeting. Apurba Das, Gender and Social Justice program, ASK, Dhaka and Masum-Ibne-Joynal of SUS also preseted the workshop. The president welcomed all the participants. He said that we acquired knowledge from SUS in previous period and formed 13 standing committee. Although we could not arrange the meetings regularly. He expected successful completion of the workshop. Masum-Ibne-Joynal discussed about the objectives and activities of standing committee. The ASK representative Apurba Das appreciated the initiative. He told that the activities of the committee will be run constructively and the committee will be reformed one year interval. The aforsaid organizations can work through coordination among them.

The recommendations of the workshop are as follows:

·          Reform of UP 13 standing committee.

·          Arrange meeting of law and order control, mitigation of family conflict, women and children welfare standing committee of UP.

·          Joint meeting of MSP and standing committee.

·          Arrange legal camp.

·          Assist the cases in Shalishi and government legal aid fund.

·          Run village court regularly.
