A total of 140 (Male: 125
and female: 15) chairman, member and secretary of Thakurakuna and Modonpur
Union Parishad (UP) of Netrakona sadar upazila, Barhatta sadar and Bousi of
Barhatta upazila, Duoz of Atpara upazila and Ashujia of Kendua upazila under Netrakona
district; Bashchhora and Rashipur union parishad of Jamalpur sadar upazila
under Jamalpur district and Porangonj and Kustia union parishad (UP) of
Mymensingh sadar upazila under Mymensingh district participated a 3 days long
basic training on village court organized during 15-17 February, 25-27
February, 11-13 March, 22-24 March and 29-31 March 2014 through 5 batches. The
objectives of the training were that the participants will acquire knowledge on
laws of village court and they will run village court systematically by
fulfilling all the documents. The
following issues such as: ordinances of village court, process of receiving
application, formation of village court, judicial process of village court,
subjects to be judged, documentation process were discussed clearly and
practically through role play. Showpoun Kumar Paul, director (Program), Murshed
Iqbal Rimu, APD and Kohinoor Begum were attended the training batches all the
times. Md. Abdur Rahim, Additional District Megistrate (ADM) was attended all
the batches as the chief guest and the respective Upazila Nirbahi Officers were
attended as special guests. Tapos Sarker,
Ali Akkas, Ferdous Ahmed, project officers and Rukhsana Murshed,
Monitoring Officer facilitated the training course assisted by Abdul Khalek and
Abdul Malek, project facilitators. Besides, all the project facilitators at
union level also participated in the training courses.
